La Alcaicería
La Alcaicería is the name by which the silk markets were known in the cities of Al-Andalus. This old Arab souk, together with Seville’s, was one of the most important in Spain. Destroyed in a fire in the Nineteenth century, today it’s a popular shopping area where you can buy souvenirs and traditional local crafts, such as the popular Fajalauza lustreware or intarsia (wood inlay).
